Celtics Dominate Mavericks in Game 5 to Clinch Title

The Boston Celtics closed out the NBA Finals with a convincing 106-88 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5 on Monday night, capturing their 18th NBA championship in franchise history.

The Celtics jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter and never looked back, as their depth proved too much for the Mavericks. Dallas' star duo of Luka Dončić and Kyrie Irving struggled to make an impact, while the Celtics' bench provided a consistent spark throughout the game.

Boston's defense also played a key role in the victory, limiting the Mavericks to just 37.5% shooting from the field. The Celtics held Dallas to just 23 points in the second half, as they locked down defensively and closed out the game with ease.

Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 24 points, while Jaylen Brown added 18 and Marcus Smart chipped in with 17. Dončić finished with 21 points for the Mavericks, while Irving scored just 11 points on 4-for-15 shooting.

The Celtics' victory marks their seventh NBA championship since 2008, and their first since 2018. It is also the first time that the Celtics have won the title on the road since 1986.
